The no legs through swing thought
Try swinging with no conscious leg action

Try this, swing the golf club with no thought at all of moving your legs. Pretend you are standing in concrete. Even though you are thinking, "no legs", I bet you will move them a bit. At first try to be a stickler and really only use your arms. As you do the drill some more, start to allow the legs to move on their own with no conscious thought of moving them on your part.
If you are guilty of overactive legs, exaggerating the idea of keeping them completely still can help you to get the feel for less legs in the golf swing. If you find yourself coming over the to and hitting big slices or pulls to the left, then your overactive legs could be the culprit. With the tough of, "no legs", you will be surprised how much your legs still move into the swing on their own without any conscious thought on your part.
The legs are in integral part of the golf swing, but if they are overactive and you are mishitting the ball or not hitting your target, quieting them down a bit for to get the feel for a more stable base, can be useful. The golf swing needs a solid base to produce the power, speed, and direction a good golf shot requires. If your body is moving all over the place due to an overactive lower body, just experiment with a little less movement. Once you get this feel, start to add a little turn into the ball. See what produces the best ball flight. Ball flight is King!
